Yes On Prop 1
Safe, Affordable Homes for Veterans, Seniors & Working Families — Strict Accountability, No New Taxes
YES on Prop 1 means safe, affordable homes for California's veterans, seniors, persons with disabilities, youth, and working families — with strict accountability, transparency, and WITHOUT RAISING TAXES.
Californians will have a chance to vote YES on Proposition 1 in November – the Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026 – which would invest $11.25 billion in building and preserving affordable homes while expanding homeownership.
Homes for Veterans, Working Families & Seniors are on the ballot. Vote YES on Proposition 1 by November 3, 2026!
The Crisis
Millions of Californians are struggling to find an affordable place to live. Only 22% of households can afford a median-priced home, more than half of renters spend over 30% of their income on rent — yet only 1% of the state's budget goes to housing.
Workers and families, seniors and veterans are all finding it harder to keep up with rising rents. Voter frustration with the cost of living is rising.
Proposition 1 is the legislature’s response. This November, it's up to voters — and Prop 1 needs a YES vote to pass.
“California has one of the largest populations of homeless veterans in the nation. After their service, our veterans deserve a place to call home. Prop 1 delivers on that promise.”
The Solution
The best way to make housing more affordable is to build more affordable homes - but as remaining state funding to build those homes gets closer to zero, affordable production is at risk of grinding to a halt.
Proposition 1 is the next step California needs, and it's on your ballot this November.
$11.25 billion for housing — zero new taxes
Fast-tracks 40,000+ shovel-ready affordable homes already approved and stalled only by funding
Expands homeownership for working families and essential workers like firefighters, nurses, and teachers
Honors our veterans with dedicated housing investment
Brings our tax dollars home — every state dollar leverages a mix of private and federal funds, bringing home tax dollars Californians already send to Washington.
A YES vote on Proposition 1 gets it done.
